Scrappin' Kits!

I am not sure if I've told you before, but I LOVE Stampin' Up's Simply Scrappin' Kits! Have you ever seen one in person?! They are amazing! The images on the adhesive die-cuts look just like perfectly-stamped and colored images! And, for me, the removability of these is essential! I often place something on my scrapbook pages, only to change my mind, and want to move it. Now, don't get me wrong, these things really stick! But, you do have a few minutes to move them around, and it doesn't rip your paper! LOVE it!

Here's a pic of a page I made using a retired kit. I love that the colors all co-ordinate, and layout ideas come with the kit, and you have tons of 12X12 paper to work with!

More projects from Whimsical Impressions Team meeting!

As promised, here are a couple more projects swapped at my Whimsical Impressions demonstrator meeting last week! I just love getting together to trade projects, and learning new styles, new techniques, and new ideas! These ladies are awesome, too, and I wish you could meet them all! We have a great open relationship in our group, and everyone loves to share! Thanks to Erin who arrived early to help with the make & takes too! I appreciate that!

Erin Enns' card

Made by Erin Enns, this card uses the Tart & Tangy stamp set, the Sock Monkey stamp set, the Summer Picnic paper, and the Scallop Circle Punch! All my favorite things! That cute ruffle along the middle is actually our white Taffeta Ribbon made into a ruffle! I will be showing this neat technique at my upcoming Big Shot Class on October 3rd, so be sure to register for that!

Debby Evoy's card

This pretty card, made by Debby Evoy, uses the Upsy Daisy stamp set, the Tangerine Tango striped grosgrain ribbon, and Holidays and Wishes stamp set, and Seasonal Icons stamp set. The colors are Tangerine Tango, Always Artichoke, Riding Hood Red, and Very Vanilla cardstock. It's hard to tell from the picture, but she also added 2 way glue, and dazzling diamonds glitter to all the flowers! So sparkly in real life! Beautiful card Debby!

Thanks for swapping ladies!

Gift Card Holder

Today, at my Fun Folds Class, we made this cute Gift Card holder out of a piece of 12X12 patterned paper. Unbelievably the project requires no adhesive (except for the decorations on the front), and it just uses folds. Very fun! We learned this fold at a Stampin' Up regional seminar in Vancouver a couple years ago. This particular one was designed by my good friend, Karina, who is also a demonstrator!  Thanks Karina! You rock!

If you'd like the pattern for this, send me an email. (I can't quite figure out how to post that on here yet! I'm still learning :) )

Well, maybe the title is a little backwards. What I mean is.....don't join my team unless you want to be inspired like crazy! Contact me to get the online password to signup online from home, and have it shipped directly to your door! And, if that's not enough, demonstrators who join my team get all classes with me at HALF price! You want more? You'd get to come to any and all stamp club nights without placing any orders! More? How about more one-on-one time, more ideas, and more prizes from me!

Here's are some of the samples from our meeting.

This one was made by Angela Boon. I love this card! Thanks Ang!

Ghosting card

I showed this technique called "Ghosting" at my stamp club get-togethers last week, and just wanted to share the completed card with you.

Ghosting card

To do this, you take a piece of vellum, and brayer ink over it (I used the new In-Color Pacific Point). Very quickly take a clean, dry, solid image stamp (this is Upsy Daisy) and stamp it onto the wet vellum. When you lift it off, it will pull the ink off with it, creating this pretty look. Then, let it dry.

For this card I added a layer of white cardstock behind (this technique shows up best if you layer it onto white), and then tied some of the new 1" Stitched Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon. Add a layer of Old Olive cardstock with some paper piercing along the top and bottom of it.  For the card base, I used Chocolate Chip cardstock.

I hope you like it!

Pink Pirouette card

Here is the completed card that I showed as a Sneak Peek a few days ago. We made this as theStamp Club Make & Take this past week, as well as a Technique Page on 'Ghosting'. (I will post a sample with that technique in a day or two.)

Stamp Club envelope card The ladies seemed to enjoy the challenge of making this card, even though I was a little worried about overwhelming them. Everyone had a blast making it, and the Build-A-Brad on the front was a hit!

Details on how it's made:

We used the Tres Chic background on Pink Pirouette cardstock, stamped in Versamark, and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. The next step was to punch the bottom of the Pink Pirouette cardstock with the Scallop Edge punch. The Old Olive prints paper strip was punched to match, and adhered underneath. The little envelope on the front was made using the Envelope Die and the Big Shot die cutting machine, on Old Olive prints paper. It is so easy to make these, as the machine cuts it, scores it, and even adds the cute lace accent along the top, all in one go thru. We added adhesive on either side, and it was ready to put on the card! First we folded some 1 1/4 inch Pink Pirouette ribbon, and taped that underneath. Inside the envelope is a little note card stamped with the Punches Three stamp set square image, and punched out with the Square Scallop Punch. We also paper pierced along the top of the little note card before sliding it into the envelope. Then, the finale was to make the Build-A-Brad for the front. For this, we used the 1/2" circle punch to make an Old Olive circle, and adhered that to the brad. The clear bubble was already sticky, so we popped that on top. We punched out a larger circle with the 3/4" circle punch, and Pink Pirouette cardstock, and put the brad thru that. It is attached with a dimentional so as not to get in the way of the note card. I hope you enjoy this project!

If you are interested in joining one of my stamp clubs, you can do so anytime. Just email me!

Big Shot Baby Book!

Here is a cute little boy Baby Book I made yesterday using my new Big Shot from Stampin' Up along with the Bigz Scallop Die.

2008 baby book 004

I cut out the Urban Garden Designer Series Paper, (4 sheets at once! I LOVE the possibilities with this machine to do multiple pieces at the same time!) I then cut off about 1 inch of the Scallop shape, so I could add the binding with my new Bind-It-All! I added the new Kiwi Satin Ribbon, which is Kiwi on one side, and Vanilla on the other! So pretty! The embellishment on the front is made from a retired Baby stamp (All Year Cheer) in Baja Breeze, punched out with the Designer Label Punch, and the new Square Scallop punch. I added a clip from the new Clips Assortment.

2008 baby book 003

I made 8 pages for the inside, and decorated them simply, with the smaller Scallop Die, cut out in Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze paper. I also added a few stamped images of Upsy Daisy in Kiwi Kiss.

This would make a great gift to pop some baby photos into, and give to Grandma as a brag book!
