Wedding favors!

Last weekend, I was honored to be invited to a friend's wedding, and was even asked to help create some wedding favors beforehand! How much fun is that? It took us a while to get the prototype put together, but once we got going, it was fast to make these.  We had a great assembly-line going....

2008 Dec - Jan 2009 183

That's the bride, Emily, on the left; family friend, June, on the right and me in the middle.

2008 Dec - Jan 2009 182

Jen was there (left), orchestrating everything, and worked hard all week to get the wedding together.

Here are the finished products....

2008 Dec - Jan 2009 185

We used the Medium Cello Bags, Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose cardstock. We printed the words onto Whisper White cardstock, using the Stampin' Up Journalling Font CD (now retired). The Big Shot came in really handy to cut out the topper using the Top Note Die (5 at a time).

2008 Dec - Jan 2009 188

We also cut out the strip (with the printing) on the Big Shot, so that the edges would match perfectly, and glued that over top of the staple we used to close them. We stamped the hearts with the Love You Much stamp set, and punched them out with the matching Three Heart Punch. Add a little glitter, and you have a cute and easy Wedding Favor!

Hope you like it!

Have a great day!

Decor Elements!

This project in my daughter's new bedroom was so much fun, but it took a little longer to complete than my other Decor Elements vinyl decorations have. Mostly, because of the set we ordered, which was one of her Christmas gifts. It is a two-step set, and it requires you to cut it apart to be able to layer the images. But, also, because I had a helper who had ALOT of input :)

We used the Ginormous Flowers # 114863 $47.95CDN in Tempting Turquoise, Taken with Teal, So Saffron and Old Olive. You can also get this set in Pixie Pink, Chocolate, So Saffron and Certainly Celery #114864.  You can view Phase 3 of the Decor Elements line here, there are some amazing brand new ones!

Here we are with the pieces all cut out, and laying them on the bed to organize the layering we wanted.

Once we had that ready, it was very quick to put them on the walls....2008 Dec - Jan 2009 168  2008 Dec - Jan 2009 176

And, here is the final product.......

2008 Dec - Jan 2009 177

She is thrilled with it, and so am I! Pop by sometime and have a peek up close.....and order some for your home too! You will LOVE them!

Now to buy some new bedding that matches the colors!

Happy Stamping!

Happy Decorating.....

Well, Happy New Year! (my last post was on Dec 31st!-sorry!) I have been away from blogging for three weeks now, and am happy to be back! When I started a new exercise regimen at the beginning of January, I had no idea it would cut into my blogging time! But it has, and I am working on finding new time slots for all the things I want to do :)

Also, I have been very busy with some home decorating, and want to share some photos with you. Over the month of December, and into January, we converted our garage into two bedrooms. My daughter was so excited to be awarded one of these new rooms, after sharing with her brother for over a year. After all the construction was done, she and I got busy painting....

2008 Dec - Jan 2009 042

(Yes, I know it's not my best look......and yes, that's a tea-towel on my head....I didn't want paint in my hair, okay? )  :)

2008 Dec - Jan 2009 047

We did the walls in Sahara Sand, and Old Olive :)

2008 Dec - Jan 2009 054

Here it is all painted.  And then we waited....and waited......for the trim to get put on, and the paint to cure, and then we moved the furniture in last week.

We were getting so excited to add the finishing touches ...Stampin' Up's Decor Elements wall decor, but we needed to give the new paint at least two weeks to cure before adding those. The order finally came, and we got to it. It turned out great, and I'll share those pics tomorrow.......
