Wild About You....

Here's another 4X4 card I made, also using the Wild About You stamp set. This one was pretty simple, and I like that I could make it quickly.

2009 - Feb 006

I used the Wild About You stamp set, the Scallop Circle Punch, and the new Wide Oval Punch . The little lion was stamped in Chocolate Chip, and also in Bashful Blue, on Whisper White, and I cut out the pieces and glued him together. I also popped up some of the layers with Dimensionals. I love that little lion! Isn't he cute?

Have a great day!

Baby card!

Here's a cute 4X4 baby card I made recently. I like to keep a variety of cards on hand, for all occasions, and I store them in a Photo Box, with dividers. (I made the dividers out of Chocolate Chip cardstock, the corner rounder, the Round Tab punch and some scraps of DSP.) I was getting low in my "baby" category, and thought I should sit down to use up some scraps, and turn out some cute cards.

2009 - Feb 003

This one was made using the following products from Stampin' Up:

Stamps: Wild About You

Ink: So Saffron, Pretty In Pink, Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Pretty In Pink, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Whisper White, and some scraps of retired Designer Series Paper.

Accessories: 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, dimensionals, white 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, square punch, chipboard coaster, sanding block (to round the edges of the DSP off)

And here's a peek at my Card Box.....

Inks: Kiwi Kiss, Basic Grey, Versamark

Paper: Urban Garden Designer paper, Kiwi Kiss and Basic Grey cardstock

Tools: Circle Cutter Plus, Word Window punch, stapler

Accessories: Kiwi Kiss striped 5/8" grosgrain, Iridescent Ice embossing powder, chipboard frame

Hope you like it!

Where does all that rubber go?

As you may have guessed, Stampin' Up has alot of pieces left over after cutting the rubber for their rubber stamps. Have you ever wondered where all the bits go? Afterall, when they make a stamp set, they have to cut each set out of a HUGE piece of rubber, and toss the leftovers. What about the flawed or defective batches? Yup, they get tossed too. But not just anywhere.....

Here's a bit of info that shows just what an environmentally-friendly company Stampin' Up really is, and just one of the many reasons that I LOVE Stampin' Up!

From the SU home office:

"Rather than dumping our excess rubber in a landfill, we donate it to Courage Reins, a nonprofit organization that provides horseback riding therapy for physically or mentally challenged children. They take our ground rubber and sell it to groups (and individuals) for use in playgrounds and horse stables. The money they receive from the sale of this rubber goes to fund their programs. You can find more information about Courage Reins at www.couragereins.org."
